Multi-channel Shopping Solutions for Retailers
Digital Folio™ by CSG
With holiday shopping in full swing, retailers are just trying to hold on. But behind the current chaos, dedicated marketing professionals are working to determine how to get their products on front stage. In a world where consumers are more empowered than ever, how do stores increase traffic and drive revenue? Multi-channel is gaining ground as a preferred method of shopping.
Here at CSG Innovations, we tackled the issues of reaching consumers across the various platforms, with the introduction of Digital Folio, which makes the interaction as seamless as possible. We offer retailers a multi-channel option to interact with customers: online and in-store, while helping to make shopping fun again for customers. We tailored our Digital Folio to current market trends that show three main phases of shopping:
Pre-shopping: consumers research products online for availability, price point, value, reviews, convenient locations, and mostly, comparison.
In-Store: despite on-line options, customers still enjoy the social factor of shopping, and will come in to physically see, touch, and test the product. There is an added confidence in holding/seeing the object, which may soon be theirs. Also, consumers enjoy interacting with in-store staff, who can provide insight and information beyond what’s available online.
Post-shopping followup: the same social factor that drives consumers into the stores, will drive shoppers back online to review and provide feedback on their purchase in Social Media mediums.
Digital Folio partners with retailers and service providers to deliver exciting extras like in-store return information, customer and industry reviews, and multi-media content. These enhancements will increase traffic to store and online, and provide increased customer satisfaction through an innovative and exciting experience.
Retailers must find a way to interact and service consumers in all three stages of the shopping process. To be where and when customers are looking for a product is essential to securing the business. Multi-channel shopping is no longer a luxury, but the norm for most customers. These shoppers have high expectations of retailers; consistency, transparency, and service is increasingly more important. Within this saturated marketplace, shoppers turn to what they trust and what is easy. For more details on Digital Folio, check out www.digitalfolio.com

Interactive shopping with Best Buy and Surface
Microsoft Surface moved multi-touch technology up a notch by creating a multi-user experience. Technically, 52 users can interact simultaneously, assuming most have very long arms: necessary to reach around the 30” display. They also took the PC to the next level: leave the mouse, keyboard, and wires out and slide up to a completely smooth, vibrant workstation. The only point of interaction is the screen: from here you can manipulate digital information with your hands!
Sound great? Want to get your hands on one now? Here at Customer Solutions Group, a Microsoft Strategic Partner, we are now taking the Microsoft Surface technology into the Retail world through a Solution we call Digital Folio. CSG has developed engaging and interesting Microsoft Surface apps for Best Buy. The Reward Zone Research Centers in Best Buy in Fort Collins, CO and Maple Grove, MN: each have three fully-equipped Microsoft Surface units ready to be explored.
The app puts the entire Best Buy inventory at your fingertips (pun intended). You can access your Digital Folio™ on the Microsoft Surface unit and see items you may have previously populated at home, on your phone, or from earlier trips into the store. You can search, compare and research any item, by sliding filters to specify price and rating, to click on/off preferences, read user/CNET reviews, compare items side by side and more.
Blue Shirts has bonus capability on the Microsoft Surface, to give you access to information you’d never find anywhere else. All in all, your trip into the store just got more fascinating and rewarding. Check it out today and let us know about your experience!

Digital Folio: an Introduction
Digital Folio™: an Introduction
Leading the way in Multi-Channel Shopping
We all use the internet, most of us use it all day. More and more people use the internet to conduct transactions, and now the online portion of any experience is no longer an added benefit, it's essential. As the internet permeates every part of life, multi-channel shopping is the preferred method of consumers. Now CSG Innovations offers businesses a way to tie online product research to the in-store experience. With Digital Folio, retail customer experiences improve, in-store traffic increases and staff interactions become more refined.
The Basics
As a Microsoft Strategic Partner, CSG’s Digital Folio platform begins with Microsoft Surface and it’s state of the art, multi-touch technology. Finally, the research customers conduct online will be seamlessly linked to the in-store visit. Now businesses have concise yet powerful interactions with their customers. Since we unveiled Digital Folio at the National Retail Federation in January the response from major retailers and Microsoft has been extremely positive.
As most transactions begin with the customer researching online, it’s become a staggering challenge for businesses to get these researchers through their doors. This is generally a customer initiated process, as they decide when and where to shop. Now there is an incentive for a customer to physically (verses virtually) go to a location. Because, with our patent pending technology, they can pick up right where they left off once they come into the store. Our unique browser component works across any website, and through the multi-touch application, customers get additional information and can engage staff members for more data.
Advanced Use
Staff engagement is key and we have developed Staff Key and Staff Smart Search, which offer a new way for staff to interact with customers at a higher level of involvement. The "Tool Chest" mechanism is included for organic learning and is an excellent way to share information.
Digital Folio also integrates with mobile platforms. Customer experience is enhanced by this new way to receive or redeem promotions, make reservations, or even receive real-time alerts of locations of your friends, colleagues and family.
And if that wasn't enough, a Real-Time Location System is included. This perfectly leverages the power of RFID to create a markedly unique customer experience. Imagine, families can locate one another within a resort, fans can check the length of lines at concession stands, or staff members can find VIP customers within a large venue.
A Current Solution in Action.
Digital Folio delivers several innovations through using Microsoft Surface at Best Buy stores in Colorado and Minnesota. The solution is focused on innovating and differentiating the shopping experience for (the) Best Buy loyalty program customers and is branded “Reward Zone Research Center” powered by Digital Folio. The goal for Best Buy is to increase store traffic, sales conversions and efficiently deliver innovative employee-customer interactions. This is truly using multi-channel to take the shopping experience above and beyond anything currently in-market. You can experience it yourself starting here on the web at: http://rewardzone.digitalfolio.com. Also, you can see a video of a portion of the in-store experience here: www.youtube.com/CSGInnovations
